It is a pleasure to announce that Saga Subsea is extending our equipment portfolio, and have invested in a series of MRT-Machines, covering wire diameters from 21mm and up to 150mm.

The machines will be administrated under our Workshop & Tooling Department, and will be available for operations with certified Operators early July 2020, for worldwide operations.

Every steel wire rope, which is subject to corrosion, abrasion, and fatigue, will fail one day if it is not discarded in time. Steel wire rope flaw detectors enables simultaneously accurate measurement of loss of metallic area (LMA) and detection of outer and inner localized flaws (LF), such as broken wires, strands, pitting corrosion. The MRT-Machines inspects the rope at speed up to 4 m/s and can be used during rope production or operation.

Saga Subsea will focus on the offshore- and subsea vessel segment for our operations but will be happy to also look into other segments such as mining and bridges. The company has performed a series of MRT and inspection jobs over the years and are doing this investment to have available high-quality machines and equipment for our Clients.
